What's Missing?
« on: June 03, 2023, 07:28:47 AM »
Rode my 750F today and lost concentration for a instant. Missed a shift up to about 4,000 rpm. Think I did anything harmful? No noises or issues of note. Thanks.

4,000 rpm? Nope.
Ride on and think about shifting full shifts up or down every shift so it goes fully into the gear so you don't wear the shift dogs and cogs.

If you are keeping RPMs under 4000, then you are riding your bike wrong.  ;)

Not unless it ran up to 10-12,000 rpm like I did at WFO 1 to 2 shift. Obliteration ensued.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

for my city riding and how loud my pipe is, I shift around 4k all day, my motor really wakes up around 6-7k...I should probably get a quieter pipe.

I read somewhere that high revs were not particularly good for 78F's due to increased included valve angle. Could I really safely take my 45 year old Honda up to 6-7000? Thanks.
