Hmm...maybe I'll become an AMSOIL dealer...
See SOHC4shop@gmail.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

Blood is thicker than water, but motor oil is thicker yet...so, don't mess with my SOHC4, or I might have to hurt you.

Last time I cruised the oil aisle at Wally World just regular dino oil was in short supply like they are phasing it out somewhat maybe.

That was my experience as well, practically all synthetic now.
Heck they didn't even have any plain old 10w-40.
They did have Valvoline 4 stroke oil.

I like the Valvoline 4-stroke dino 10/40wt. & I get it from them.
I look for it regularly;if they don't have it I'll get a gallon of Shell Rotella T4 15/40wt.

Just to confirm. The Shell Rotella T4 that so many people are using is labeled as a “Diesel Oil”? I’m looking for an alternative to the 4 stroke Castrol Motorcycle oil I have been using forever. The prices of the individual 1 litre bottles is getting ridiculous around here. Thanks.

Rotella T4 is certified to JASO MA/MA2.  These ratings are for 4-stroke motorcycles with wet clutches.  Look at pg 4 here: https://rotella.shell.com/en_us/products/triple-protection-motor-oil/rotella-triple-protection/_jcr_content/par/productDetails.stream/1520976123954/02cdc4507e718cd0fc768d05faab7059e52f0938/t4-15w-40.pdf

I saw an ad for Castrol Classic GTX high Zinc 20W50 for motorcycles...

Where?
Walmart says they usually have it, $72.81 for 3 5qt jugs but out of stock. Autozone says they do but the store website doesn't know about it.

Yes.   I recently order 3 gallons for the same reason, quart prices for motorcycle oil have gotten ridulous.

Are we forgetting how inflation has affected our purchasing power?

https://www.usinflationcalculator.com/  The Dollar is simply worth less than it was the last time we bought oil, or what we remember paying for past oil changes.

Then there is the current propaganda war on petroleum products going on these days to bolster investors in “green” energy profitability.  But, I don’t think we are allowed to discuss that.
