fork brace
« on: May 30, 2023, 05:07:02 PM »
Is anyone aware of a fork brace for our bikes?  Tarrozi type, not the chopper tweak bar. I used a tall 76F front end so I could get a brace and now see they seem to be obsolete everywhere.

Dual Disks?.......Short drag-strip shut-down? Goldwing forks with 4-bolt axle studs. Option to XL350 4-bolt legs if you need to stay narrow and use 35mm tubes.  A modified MX unit may do it at swap-meet prices.

Fast From the Past is the u.s. supplier of Tarozzi.  Last I knew, they still had F0/F1 fork braces.  I bought one from them a few years ago.  Went to go check on availability and get ya a link and their website is loading too slow.  I dunno...try again later.?

Fast from the past doesn't list the 76F anymore. A China company lists a 750 brace on ebay but has no year/ model or size listed.
I read where someone put on a set of Tarozzi fork braces and couldn't believe the difference in handling. Having witnessed a death wobble years ago I remain impressed by it.
Anyway, I hope to get this bike on a mile runway somewhere and maybe a few 1/8 mile laps.

You are right!  I finally got the website to work and the F1  (and all sohc4 braces, for that matter) are gone.  I love having a fork brace on my 500lb/35mm fork tube bikes...but beware!  Without careful set-up of all the clamps on your front end, a fork brace can make the head shake worse!  If you are worried about head shake, spend the money on a steering damper, not a forkbrace.  A fork brace is just going to give a super solid, confidence inspiring feel when cornering and braking at the expense of increased stiction, especially if all the front end clamps (axle clamps, fork brace, lower triple, upper triple)may be slightly out of tolerance.   I am guilty of buying a complete $800 750k1 just to get the ultra rare Telefix(german made, name may be wrong)fork brace that works on the short early fork lowers.  I even offered the guy $250 for just the brace...nope, after that he suspected some kind of scam and would not even answer my messages.  So I had a friend message him, showed up with $800 cash on an $1100 asking price and bought the whole bike.
If it works good, it looks good...

Isn't the 77/78 K the same front end? Try looking for that perhaps.

 Thanks for looking,
It's Tarozzi 22-0037, 35 x 58 x 182mm, the part number in the caferacer site brings up a leather belt lol.
I made one for a cb900c out of carbon fiber and kevlar left from an NHRA funnycar cage. It had no fender though and I'm out of stuff anyway.
