So how many SOHC/4 on the road guesses ??
« on: June 24, 2023, 05:13:47 PM »
My K2 hibernated from 1994 to this summer, now it is active again :-). I have a K3 in the shed that might see some miles next summer.

But I ponder how many SOHC/4 are presently being ridden ?? Of course not limited to the USA. Someday maybe I’ll wave to one as I pass them but not yet this year :-).

When I joined here in 2006 (or so) there were about 150,000 registered CB750s of this type, according to a search/survey that was taken. In 2012 there was reportedly almost 3x as many registered (license plates) and insured, and if you tried to buy one they had gone from a few hundred $$ to over $1000 in any condition. Many 'blame' this forum for it!

But, that works for me. :D

Pre-Covid nonsense, the big summertime vintage bike gatherings were showing skyrocketing interest in the Honda twins and especially these Fours. Covid stopped those get-togethers, but maybe we'll see them start back up?

It's been a long time since I've seen one on the road around here other than mine.  It's getting that way with my airhead BMW too.

I rarely see them riding around metro Detroit but I see them parked out in the wild. I see an airhead once or twice a year - i'm not including the Woodward dream cruise, you see everything there. I pretty much am the vintage honda guy in my area that rides them, I have three bikes in rotation currently so if someone hadnt really seen one, they have now. If I go on local marketplaces it seems like everyone around me has one in their garage.

Yep, most of the guys riding em in my area I have met because of this forum, but not all post or are members here by any  means.  From what I have seen at bike shows, sohc4 are THE most popular bike to use as a vintage, regular rider.  But do I see them out at bike nights or cruising popular roads?....very very rarely
