Thanks for the welcome!
I’m from the originally UK but currently stuck in Hong kong where the bike is.
The bike was a UK bike, imported in, that’s when I got my hands on it.
It was sat around for 7 years and hadn’t moved more than a handful of kms during that time.
It was in a sorry state, (still is to be honest… lol) front brake was stuck, clutch rod was in 2 pieces. And would get warm very quick.
So after riding around on it for a week, I decided it needed a bunch of work.
Rebuilt the master cylinder and caliper, it has a new brake hose, but it’s missing the original metal pipe which I kinda like. Brought a NOS clutch actuating rod… new clutch plates and springs (I feel the springs are a little stiff… I’m wondering if it’s worth looking into other springs). New tires of course.
Then rebored the cylinder +1.0mm with new pistons and rings (there was quite a lot of pitting in the cylinders, especially cylinder 2 and 3). New valves and top end seal and gaskets.
The vintage CB was always a dream bike of mine. Just love the sound. And it’s basic on a lot of levels. But definitely very different to a European bike.
