1977 CB750 F2 Brake Calliper Slider Pins
« on: July 12, 2023, 05:20:09 AM »
Hi All, almost finished rebuilding the breaks and callipers but before I torque everything up I have a question. What is the correct orientation of the slider pins for the break callipers? This is the two pins partial covered by a rubber boot in the pic below. One has tape (could be tape) and one does not, labelled as parts 16 & 17 in the photo. From what I can see, the slider pin with the tape (17) is inserted at the bottom and pin (16) without the slider tape is mounted at the top?

Thanks in advanced.

Probably not tape. More likely the pin has a shape to it(seen that on gl1100 slider pins)

It looks like 17 is longer than 16, and correspondingly the mount should have longer hole for 17 to fit in.

Weirdly both holes are the same depth! I’ve got a close up photo of the slider pin.
