Topic: New Starting Kill Switch Assembly Needed for 1976 Honda CB750A

Hey Everyone,

My mechanic was preforming a check over and was replacing the starter button spring on my 1976 CB750A.

He just recently called me up to tell me that when he was taking it apart everything "exploded" inside, and I will need a new Starting Kill Switch Assembly (right hand side).

I looked up the part number 35130-393-671, and it's been discontinued. I also looked up the 77/78 CB750A part number 35130-393-771 and it's been discontinued as well.

So, I am puzzled on what to do? Has anyone used a CB750K or F Starting Kill Switch Assembly of a certain year that has worked, or a certain year that can be modified to work?

Does the A use the same starting switch with the interior clear plastic housing that "explodes" i.e. breaks apart? We HAD someone that made/makes the plastic housing. 3D printed I believe? Not sure if it is now available.

After searching the internet high and low, I am going to try the "Honda Handlebar Switch Right" from "cognitomoto.com".

The only problem will be that the wiring of the cognitomoto switch, is slightly different from the OEM switch wiring.

Cognitomoto Switch:
Black/White = Run/Off
Black = Run/Off
Black/Red = Off/On
Brown/White = Off/On
Green/Red = Start
Yellow/Red = Start

OEM Honda Switch:
Black/White
Black
Brown??
Black/Red
Green/Red
Green

I am assuming Green = Yellow/Red, and the Brown wire I just don't use?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
