Oil control valve 350F

Which direction, up or down, do the oil control valve (12901333000P) orient for the CB350F? There are two valves one located at each end of the cylinder block and they feed oil to the cam oilers in the head. I think it was the only picture I did not take when I did my rebuild.

Hello,

Just rebuilt my CB350F engine and I believe those face down.

If same as 400 thin pin down
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Remember "Its always in the last place you look" COURSE IT IS YOU STOP LOOKIN THEN!

The CB350 Honda Shop Manual (with CB400F supplement) is a very helpful resource.

For your question, Figure 3-2 would be helpful (see the link below)

This figure shows the oil flow control orifice (pin) being down (as bryanj posted above).

1975 CB400F (original owner)
1969 CL350 (sold back in 1976)
