Identify this Fuse Box?
« on: November 13, 2023, 07:00:49 AM »
This came with a stack of other NOS stuff I bought. I don’t think it’s SOHC cb750. Usual three fuses with cover markings; 15A Main, 7A Headlight, 7A Taillight. Two spare fuses in the cover. Note: the white connector uses 6 Female ends. Anyone recognize it? Need it?

Maybe for 500/550?

I think you're right, 550. The plastic cover with the spare fuses is often lost or broken.

Does your connector look like this one (with female pins inside)?

Nope. The correct cover fusebox for the CB550K-K2 and the CB500K2 GENERAL EXPORT is shown here: https://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb500k2-general-export_model50441/cover-fuse-box_32117341702/
Note the hole to accomodate the grommet for three spare fuses and on the outside it says 5A for TAILLIGHT and not 7A. See pics.

Need it?

In 2008 I made 2 fuseblocks for a rider in Alberta who ordered them for his 2 CB550 bikes. So, I made two of my ATC fuseholders with Blades connectors and sent them to him. I got them back about 2 weeks later because both of his 550s required fuseholders with Receptacles, instead. After that, I started asking each person who wanted a 550 fuseblock whether their version needed BLADES or RECEPTACLES in the connector, because the 550 uses both. I haven't yet figured out where the delineation is, whether it is a year model or the F versus K model, or what, but I know for sure that 550s use both types of connectors.
See SOHC4shop@gmail.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

Well that explains a lot and matches the listing too. Early cb750F and last two years of 550K.  I’ve had a ‘75 cb750F and my first SOHC Honda was a ‘78 550K so it my have come with one of them…… Thanks. .

My brother needed an electrical part for his K4, I snagged one off a parts bike and when I got there, we had the same problem, the plug had switched sides from one year to the next. I forget what the item was.
One time his starter relay welded closed, he couldn't get neutral and finally laid the bike down in the grass until the battery went dead.
