I've found toasted fuse boxes on several bikes I freshened.
The seller of my last 400F was displeased when I told him only a couple pilot jets were plugged up and it was now running great. He thought he sold me a bike with a junk engine. I bought it during a monsoon and couldn't ride it. Shame on him, good for me.

My K6 came to me the same way. The PO did a nice restoration but then gave up on getting it to run smoothly…. Good carb cleaning and it ran really well. I never told him.

Well I got side tracked off this bike for a bit.
But still I've made progress in the last couple of weeks.
In fact I've got just a little bit more to do to complete the "cleanoration" .
Might get it complete this weekend with some luck.

So this week was the first time I actually rode the bike since getting it back together.
Electric issues resolved and everything double and triple checked.
So all that was left was to ride the damn thing... and I love it!

It runs excellent though the engine makes a high screech at approximately 5k-55k rpms. It's fine below or higher than that point. I've posted in the SOHC main section asking about it and have recieved some good responses.

Your CB 400-4 looks great. When I was in high school it was one of the cool bikes even though it's only a 400cc bike.
They are really fun to ride especially in the upper RPM's. It always seems so small after riding one of our other bikes. Ours is a blue 75'.

Did you use VHT Flameproof silver on the headers Kelly ?

Yep, after blasting them and using VHT Flameproof primer. We finished that bike in January 2017 and they still look good.
