My lap-top was in the repair shop for the past week :(

I need 143 to get my M-CF back ;) and 148.5 to regain the MPS records ;D ;D

17 x 44 now on for naked run and access for tuning sans fairing.

I have several clip-boards with notes to get started. The bike is ready to load in the trailer. Now packing tools & equipment...........AND getting tires and a fender to repair the Jeep due to a "no injuries" incident for Carol and a merging trailer ::) ::) ::)

I may have to bring a fishing rod. Lake Bonneville may not be nice to us.

0.27 inch of rain this Sunday.
Was planning to arrive on Tuesday for Track Prep.  I'm expecting a delay.  Haven't heard from the bmst crew chief yet.
SCTA found a workaround, BMST can too.  Will just have to scout around for some high ground.

If this storm could just fizzle out over the southwest that would be great.

My plan is to arrive Friday afternoon and depart Tuesday.

I've seen the lake disappear and then the winds shift and bring it right back into the pits.

The forecast models show the storm to stay mostly to the west of the flats. We had a couple of brief showers today, and some wind, but not enough rain to even register in the rain gauge. It looks like SoCal is going to get hit hard, and then the storm will move north through the Central Valley. Hopefully it will have lost most of it's moisture by the time it gets that far north.

Thanks for the weather reports..............

I will arrive on Thursday in early PM and meet Danny with his Triumph ready for RWYB. If no more rain maybe a slight delay for competition to begin. Another 1/4-inch and more delay..............anything more than that and we stay home.  :'( :'( :'(

Final trailer packing today. Jeep fender and tires are still waiting to be installed ??? ??? ???

My last item is to change the clear face-shield on my race-only helmet to a smoke unit..........should be easier on the eyes for expected sunshine on white earth.

Dennis, where did you start from on your trip to Pike's Peak 50 years ago? In late June, 1973, I left San Luis Obispo, CA, on the maiden voyage of my freshly(as in still twisting wrenches at 4:00AM), re-assembled Seeley, with Pike's Peak as the destination. I was traveling with 3 friends and co-workers, with two of them riding CBX's. Both of them had charging problems the same day in Nowhere, Nevada, and the delay caused us to miss the Hill Climb. :( We did continue on to the Springs, where most of my relatives lived. It was about a 3500 mile trip total, and I swore I would never ride that far again!

It's tempting.  Do you have a plan set yet?

Scott.....................I rode from Wisconsin on about the same dates as you :) :) I partied at a friend's house on the 4th and rode up 'the peak' on the 5th while the gravel was still nicely groomed from the race.

Ofreen.............My long-time friend Danny lives near you in Kuna............He bought my '69 CB750 back in '71 ;) but now rides a Triumph America. We are planning to arrive at Jerry's place on Monday the 28th or maybe Tuesday. He has to leave on Wednesday but we are welcome to stay if the weather is not right for the 'climb'. We are then talking about MAYBE riding north to the Black Hills and stop along the way back along the Little Big Horn sites. We are packing tents but will also hotel-it when needed. Should arrive back in ID 2-3 days after Labor Day. Bring sleeping bags to our daughter's house for a sofa or RV.........meals included ;)

Dennis.
I was giving serious thought to making it next year because of this cancelation if you were going.  It seems I've now got 2 years to plan the trip.
