It's official, I am the luckiest guy I know.....
« on: March 10, 2007, 04:29:42 AM »
I mean, first off- My wife.  She's totally out of my league, super hot, tells me I got a big dingy and it's the only one she wants- fantastic!

Second- My Kids.  My little girl is a princess and my son is spiderman- at the age of 4 he had the upper body strength to hang from his bunk bed and pull his legs up around the bed rail, realease his right arm and while still hanging on.....shoot a web!!!  Fantastic!

And third- This here 1990 Kawasaki Vulcan 750.  I found out about it through a friend that the guy only wanted $500.  We looked at it and I decided it was well worth it even though it had been sitting up for 6 months and didn't have a key.  I thought, it's in such good shape, I'll just clean the carbs and gas tank, put a new battery in it, hot wire it, and I bet it will fire right up.

Well, I call the guy and say: "I've only got $400 to spend and I still need to buy a battery and stuff.  Will you take $360?"

He says, "Hold on..........................Yeah, I'll take $350."   ??? ??? :-\ :o :D ;D ;D ;D ;D

So I go over there and he has even had a key made for me, signs over the clean title, and I hand him $350.

On the way home I'm gassing up my truck, notice the tank is clean and empty so I went ahead and put a couple gallons in.  Get home and throw in a new battery, hit the magic button and with a few pops and bangs......VROOOOMM!!!!

Thing runs like a champ, in nearly perfect condition.  I am riding it to work today.  I will ride this until my 750SS is done and then sale it for mondo profit.  I've always said that I have been blessed so much in the first half of my life, I feel like God is really going to expect alot from me in the second half.

No no no no, it was $350!!!  The guy mis hered me when I said $360 and came back and said he'd take $350.  He totally low-balled himself!  I'm actually at work right now.  After a nice 20 mile ride in, I'm thinkin' I might keep it a little longer than planned.  It just simply runs terrific.  I will be skipping all over work today!

I might just go ahead and put a little effort into it, and keep it long term as the bike that I usually ride due to comfort- but to show off and have fun, I'll ride a sohc-4.  I can't believe I've made it to this level, to were I am blessed enough to have two bikes for myself.  I actually have seven others, but they are either junk, parts bikes, or projects to sale- not really mine.  The Kawasaki and 750SS are designated as "Me" bikes.  I need to go organize a charity to give back.

Sorry for rambling, just so elated with joy. ;D ;D ;D

Oh, oh, there goes the excuse you gave the wife. "Hon, at this price I could turn this around for a huge profit." ;D

Nice find, can't believe he let it go for that. :o

Oh, I forgot to mention that it came with a set of saddle bags with a pewter wolfs head on each side.  Probably about $100 or so if purchased new.  I gave them to my buddy who told me about the bike as a finders fee.  Hmm, lookie there- I guess I did give to charity. ;)

I hope not to rain in your parade, but when something seems to good to be true, it probably isnt. Do you guys remember that post about somebody asking for a seat pan and he got offered and airport seat? During some time I had some laughs with the "nigerian scam", answering ads that asked 2 grand for a Yamaha R1 and so. I would always say I was sorry for having them waste their time but I had been working for just a few months and only have saved $1.800. They would always say it was OK for them.

Regarding your pink thing, has your wife ever seen more to compare? ;D

I saw the perfect card today. The front is an old photo of a Ma and Pa Kettle-type couple laughing their butts off. It says, "A good marriage is when a husband can make his wife laugh- (open the card) and a wife who doesn't tell what she's really laughing at."

No, it's just EXTREMELY logical, whilst lacking a sense of humour.

I think he may have been speaking to me, or not.  But anyway, nope- got a signed title and just registered it this morning- all went smooth.

I put about 200 miles on it this weekend and it is still an unbelieveable deal.  So happy with it.  Thanks for the pic mlinder, gives me some good ideas.

Raul and Uncle ernie, I find it very strange that with all that could have been mentioned, you both decide to talk about my penis.  Hmm..... I'll follow the presidents orders, and I won't ask so that you don't have to tell.

Roofles, I didn't even think consider that he meant 'hot' as in 'stolen'. I thought he meant 'Hot' because of the name 'Vulcan', the Roman god of fire and volcanoes, Greek counter part being Hephaestus.
I took it to 'modern' status, being the 'Vulcans' from star trek, of which Spock was half :/

I know I know, no one cares.

WTF??? Did you read what I wrote before that side comment? Furthermore, if you just wanted to tell us about your good deal, why did you mention about your penis and your wife in first place?

In the neighborhood, they said it's the kicked dog that howls.  In psychology, that might be considered guilty projection. In psychiatry it may well be paranoia.  At any rate, I certainly never touched that icky subject.  Icky I say.  I don't see any allusions to body parts of any kind.
