77 cb550k front end "off"
« on: August 31, 2023, 06:27:46 AM »
I just got this cb550 running and when riding straight down the road, the front end is somewhat off. The handlebars and top triple look to be toward the left and this is really noticeable from the turn signal mounts that protrude from the forks. I am thinking the steering stem itself is bent. In all it seems to ride ok.
Would the stem be the issue? The bike does not appear to have any damage and is very clean.

Check and loosen all bolts holding the fork tubes, top tree torque nut and line up the front end.(you might find some loose bolts, it's happened before.
Once 1straight, if it will, retorque everything properly.

If it doesn't straighten,  fully stripe the fork tubes and check for straight fork tubes on V blocks and spin them slowly with a dial indicator to measure runout.
