Topic: Trying to find a good LED headlight solution for my CB400F

So far it has been a challenge finding something that will easily fit. If anyone is curious I recorded current readings for my stock Stanley incandescent. I replaced the incandescent lamp on my 79 CBX with an LED and measured 1.45a - 18.85w Lo or Hi at 13v. That would be a 9 to 32w savings on the CB400F. For those who don't know, Watts = Volts * Amps.

12v Lo 2.09a - 25.08w
12v Hi 3.79a - 45.48w

12.5v Lo 2.12a - 26.5w
12.5v Hi 3.87a - 48.38w

13v Lo 2.16a - 28.08w
13v Hi 3.93a - 51.09w

13.5v Lo 2.21a - 29.84w
13.5v Hi 4.04a - 54.54w

14v Lo 2.26a - 31.64w
14v Hi 4.13a - 57.82w

Has a write-up be Eric Koster showing how he cut the stock globe and installed a LED light.
You can search the group for LED, and it is the 2nd thing that pops up (when I searched).

I have not done the mod yet, but I think I will in the future.

David Silver sells a 400f headlight unit with an H4 bulb fitting.  Get that then a Philips Ultinon H4 bulb, it is the best LED one i have found so far
