A few times, since I started riding my “new to me” 2008 Honda Varadero, it mysteriously dies at idle, after coming to a stop. The oil pressure light flashes on and the engine stops. Resetting the kill switch on/off instantly allows restart. The light extinguishes immediately. I screwed an oil pressure gauge into the hot bike and there is no issue.
When I removed the stock pressure switch (identical to SOHC cb750) it was sealed with black silicone, so I suspect I am not the first to investigate…… Honda Canada has no inventory of the part. The 4-1 aftermarket part was only $7.50, so I ordered a couple. Anyone used these? Any issues, worked OK? Thanks!
P.S. noticed they do sell smaller tubes of Hondabond, at very reasonable prices, which I added to my order.
