I would prefer your thoughts on handling this issue:
I need to replace a broken off fork steering stop tab on the lower frame neck. I'm considering having a replacement piece Tig welded in the stock position, probably about a centered 1" long weld with a "tack" on each top corner. The question is, does the bike need to be disassembled to protect any of the electrical parts?
The bike is an '83 CT110 with a 6 volt system for basically operating lights and accessories, as the engine doesn't need the battery installed to run. There is a rectifier which I believe uses diodes to direct current flow.
Thanks in advance,
