08 Triumph Rocket 3
« on: September 30, 2023, 08:39:26 AM »
My son has picked up a non-running Rocket 3. I haven’t seen it, he hasn’t yet laid a wrench on it.
He spoke of a $500 engine gasket set, ouch, and performance mods! Maybe a ride on a running bike will change his mind about performance mods.
I’m hoping to get a proper ride on it.

Looks like a nice bike, not running?
Can't be too much wrong, doesn't look abused.

No, he’s not too far away, and this is a new chapter and challenge for him. I don’t believe he has a fortune invested, but I don’t know the details. I think those are reflections in the tank not scratches. He has sold his Concours and I think the 919 Hornet is for sale on FB.

Yes, we have chatted a bit. But I can’t find a postage stamp big enough to get it there.

That Triumph look mighty and beatiful.
Nice color!
Must feel cool to ride that amount of torque. ;)

I heard a previous owner report that the cam timing may have altered itself. :(

He doesn’t ascribe to the “Highlander” motto of bike model ownership…

Terry mentions thinning the herd pretty often, like someone trying to quit smoking but never does. He's got a soft spot for keeping bikes out of the junk yard.
Good for him.
