Where do you get good points and condensers

What brand are people using for good points and condensers and where do you find them.

I have been getting away with old original stuff salvaged from parts bikes for years now...but I have and have had a LOT of bikes.  Last I new Honda was the only source for oem quality.  I know...expensive right?  Anything else is pretty much gonna be Daiichi brand, which is useless garbage.

Dave Silver buy the complete points plate with points and condensers its cheaper that way

The best is from Honda. Aftermarket points and condensers fail miserably fast.
What bike do you have that you want the points and condensers for?
Where are you located?? (Put that in your profile) Where you are also effects location to get parts from for lower shipping costs......

Prior bikes....
1972 Suzuki GT380 I had charge of it for a year in 1973 while my friend was deployed and learned to love street riding....
New CB450 K7 after my friend returned...
New CB750 K5 Planet Blue, demise by ex cousin in law at 9,000 miles...
New CB750 K6 Anteres Red, to replace the totaled K5, I sold this K6 at 45k in 1983, I had heavily modified it, many great memories on it and have missed it greatly.....

South sound Honda sells complete points plate cheaper than buying replacement points and condensers…seem to recall it was in the $80 range

Tried South Sound 2 months ago and they no longer have that complete part.  However they sent me to a shop in Ark.  Price was close to $160.

I have a 1978 cb550. Does Honda list points for that old of a bike. What would it match up to.

I just bought genuine points for my xl250. The contacts touched only on one edge, and I had to grind one slot in order to mount the points. I had to bend the stationary contact to make proper contact.

For the price of a new genuine Honda points plate you could get a Dyna S.  I'm not saying its better than points but it's definitely not worse and maintenance free once installed and timed.  The Dyna S was made to work with stock or stock replacement style coils.

A friend of mine made many good points about installing a magnetic pickup electronic ignition and condensed it into a list, so I bought one off the internet.

+ 1 for south sound honda ,  put 500 miles on them and then install a honda man electronic ignition and then forget about them  marks electronic ignition was the best money i ever spent on my k 6  .  strarts easy , runs great , idles perfect  .  a real no brainer
