Could be what you are feeling is a difference in the sealing washer, but I don't know for sure as I have never installed a Denso plug before. When you torque the spark plug, you are achieving a certain amount of crush on that washer. So, if the NGK washer happened to have more "crush" to it, that is why you get that stripping feeling.
I recently bought a cb750 that had extremely tight spark plugs. The 2 outside came out fine with some excessive force and showed to be Denso's. I did notice the extremely high quality of the threaded portion. Unfortunately, plug 3 was not a Denso, was a Champion, and had already been broken off by someone previously and just left in the hole.
