Petcock questions.
« on: October 27, 2023, 08:34:08 AM »
I bought a CB750 tank from a guy who didn't what he had.  I think it is from a '75 or '76 due to the petcock being on the left.  However I'm finding it difficult to locate the correct petcock.  I see options for '69-'74 or '77-'78.  What gives?  Anybody else run into this problem?

They are different from the earlier style and then changed again in 1977/78. They are also available for a bit less from vintagecb750.com. Try your local Honda dealer first and see if they can get you one. They are superior.

sorry to say i had bad luck with the one i bought from vintage .  was so stiff it took two hands to turn on or off .   i used it for parts to rebuild my old one .    i e mailed them and they admitted they were a little stiff .   maybe they are improved now

I had a new stock Honda petcock that was stiff to turn. I lubed it without taking it apart. Silicone grease.
That was the earlier 2 pipe.
