World Tour Memories
« on: October 14, 2023, 09:31:38 AM »
I shared a couple pictures on F/B of my brother and I from the Kansas end of our part in the World tour. Sam joined in and I told a story about the Chicago leg of the Midwest team's tour.
On the Kansas end we were told if we went to the Motorcycle Classics office we would get a story and photo. We did, it was an editorial and a 1"x1" picture on page 3 or so. We rode to Missouri with those guys and My brother and I took it home to Illinois.
The next weekend we rode Godzilla to Chicago meeting the first rider at Dixon Il. and picking up those guys as we went. By the time we got to the meet-up at 3 Floyds brew pub it was raining, we were hours late and a line was out the door to get in. The Indiana hand-off guys waited and came out in the rain to stand in line with us. Once we got in, the manager had to mop the floor around us and took our helmets and jackets to the kitchen to dry and warm up.
We did the hand-off of the Godzilla, banner and log book, got a motel room and rode home, still damp in 40* F air the next morning.

Does anyone have an epic ride story on the tour or elsewhere?  I remember rumors of an ice covered frozen rider in Colorado but I'll leave that one for the rider to tell.

No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.
