CB400F Air Box
« on: October 27, 2023, 09:43:25 AM »
The boots on this airbox have been glued to the hard plastic but 3 of the 4 are loose. Are the boots separate items and what is the best way to ensure a leak free attachment? Thanks.

Boots can be purchased as a separate item usually in a set of 4 from aftermarket sources, yet singley from Honda if still available. DSS has a US depot to sell these items who can supply the aftermarket ones for a reasonable price, also EBay likely too.
Any rubber sealant can be used to seal the loose ones, yet not super critical if they fit snug as they usually have a dual lip design covering both the inner and outer part of the airbox.

Looks like David Silver Spares is temporarily out of stock of the air horns but expects them soon.

Honda used to sell them attached to the backing plate but are no longer available.
