Motion Pro sells a refill kit for the sync. tool. Part #08-0581. It comes with new “0” rings for the needle valves in the bottom and a soft set of caps that go on the top, when not in use. “35 drops” in each reservoir pretty much empties the bottle, so I try and keep a spare around…….

Freezing cold  and very windy here today. Suppose to warm up later in the week. All set to roll up the door and fire this one up!

I moved my shop and found an old baby food bottle of mercury, yikes! Odd because I never used one of that type gauge anyway. I best find a drop off spot for that pronto.

Mercury worked best in those manometer gages! I got outlawed here around 1990, though. It's not unlawful to 'own', but it is unlawful to 'use'.
When I was a kid we used to get some at the five-and-dime stores and play with it until we'd drop it somewhere and it would splatter away. It came in little glass tubes with a rubber stopper, about 10 cents, IIRC. Now, you'd think it was radioactive or something...

A while back I borrowed a friend’s Carbtune (has stainless steel rods in the columns).  Worked really well.  Much nicer than my vacuum gauges.

I do like my Carbtune I bought last year.
I'm just finishing up clearing out my storage units in San Diego. My old Honda gauges just arrived by truck with all the totes of tools and supplies back to NH, I'll be back there Saturday night. Had some friends who unloaded my totes to my store room tonight in NH so I'll do a comparison in a month or two.

This long length of fuel hose arrived from Japan in just over a week. Via Japan Post, no extra Duty or Fees! Not sure about in the US, but here the dealers don’t even want to order it for me. Great deal.

I’ve a question about ordering from Yamiya.  How do they ship?  When it arrives in Canada, do we get dinged with brokerage fees, duties, and taxes, etc?

My friend who just bought nice runner K5 that really could use paint.  He’s considering getting a body kit from Yamiya.

I recently received a Yamiya engine cover screw kit via Japan Post with no extra charges. BUT, Lash got a larger parcel that came via DHL and got charged plenty extra. Ask them directly for confirmation of shipping options……

Thanks guys. Got the static timing set today. Took a while because I’d inadvertently used an advancer that came with the Rickman race bike. Someone had messed with it and it’s fubared. Changed it out for a “stock” one and done in 5 minutes.

Finally made up a rod to hold the remote fuel tank at a decent height, out of the way. Plan to use it for my Motion Pro synchronizer stick board too.

Time to crank up oil pressure (already did a few weeks ago), new plugs, check for spark, load the carbs, check for leaks (bench tested OK), and then crank it up.

Here’s a picture of my auxiliary fuel tank setup.  Just a lawnmower tank with inline shutoff.  Held on with a small bunjie.

One thing that irks me is paying for something Paypal and then my bank hitting me with a "foreign currency" type fee. Our Dollar General stores here sell a Paypal gift card that I will use when I KNOW that fee might apply. So it saves me a couple bucks per item if I do it that way.

FiIRED IT UP! Can’t seem to load the video. Who cares! No leaks, nice and quiet. Timing set with the strobe light. Runs so well I’m sure the carbs are close but vacuum sync. next time…… Hooray!

#3 carb burped a bit of fuel down the over flow pipe. Few taps and it stopped. Otherwise, perfect “First Start”. Need to open up a few valve caps and make sure there is lots of oil in the cam box.
