They are still out there

Earlier this summer I had my K2 750 in my driveway. A man was walking by on the sidewalk and stopped. Said his father has a 74 the same color (sunrise orange) that has not be ridden since 1996. Asked if I would be interested. Told him definately!  Did not hear from him until 2 weeks ago when he sent pictures and said his father wanted it to go to someone who would restore it and wants to give it to me.
Went to pick it up (about 2 hrs away). Had been in a pole barn and was the dirtiest thing I had seen in a while. Carb were redone when parked.  Original paint, almost perfect 341 exhaust, side covers, and tank with a dent. Handed me the original 1974 title. Missing gauges and headlight ears.
So far I have checked the electrical (all works) 130 to 150 dry compression and will keep posting progress.

The same thing happened to us with the 83' CB 1100F. The original owner saw our Rust Brothers Garage Fakebook page and contacted us to give us the bike. He did it because he knew that we would resurrect and ride it. We made him take $300 for the bike, it didn't seem right to give him nothing. Getting him to take the money was the hardest part of the deal. 8)
We hope to get started on it this winter.

New CB750 K6 Anteres Red, to replace the totaled K5, I sold this K6 at 45k in 1983, I had heavily modified it, many great memories on it and have missed it greatly.....

Yes, that was a  $100 cripple I did about 10 years ago. Serial number 929. Local dealer had all the NOS parts needed to restore. Thank God for packrats. Nothing runs a cookin 2 stroke!

Yes. Was complete but in horrible condition. Had been badly abused. Every transmission gear that was trashed and the dogs were bent. Matched the paint with the help of House of Kolor.

Steve-0. Was at the parts counter at the local Honda dealer buying parts for my 550 project in 2009. A guy next in line asked if I wanted some more old Hondas. One was an S90 Benly I restored and ride regularly. He said the other is a 66, first year they made that model and the biggest one they made that year. I thought “Black Bomber”. Turned out to be an x6, Paid $200 for both. Great fun!

Update: 90% done. Still some wiring issues, finishing carbs, odds and ends. One owner bike without too many “Stupid Previous Owner” repairs.
