Ok I will admit I have a thing for the Honda 305 series, I may even start to look for a Super Hawke before all is said and done.  This came in a couple of days ago from NJ, a find on FB Marketplace.  Even with shipping it was a good deal, one you just could not pass up.  The bad, no title and cosmetically rough as Willie Nelson's backside, but it runs like a top with low miles and factory new compression.  I will start to bring it back after I finish up the Dream and I won't bore you gentlemen with another CL77 restoration process.  I will throw up a shot when done many months from now.  This somewhat falls into my masterplan I have for my small herd.  Some will be leaving in the spring due to the lack of use and space.  I am keeping a few favorites that I will occasionally ride to the hardware store or a bike night.  These two fit that bill. Everybody has a favorite bike, and mine has always been the CL77 305 Scrambler.  It was the bike to have when I got out of High School in 1967.........

Please do bore us with the CL, the CL 72/77's are one of my favorite bikes of all time! Just like you,  but I'm only a couple of years younger, that was my transportation to high school and first job.

I went from a CT90 up to a 66' CL77,which was my first real 'road bike' after getting my learner's permit in 73'. A very enjoyable bike and it rode very well.  :)

Baby powder on your exposed skin before you start sanding. It fills the pores so the bazillion glass needles can't take root as easy. Wash off when done .

Everybody has a favorite bike, and mine has always been the CL77 305 Scrambler.  It was the bike to have when I got out of High School in 1967.........

That one is my 'close 2nd' to the 750...They had perfect on-the-street power in big cities, with excellent manners (if weak brakes) and reliable like a hammer.

The 305 Dream, though, won out in the touring class for me: it's 360-degree firing of the pistons with the unique crankshaft to match made it so much smoother at the near WFO hiway speeds of those days. My SuperHawk more than once cut the license plate in half with its vibes, while my friend's Dream never so much as loosened a bolt.
See SOHC4shop@gmail.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

The demons are repulsed when a man does good. Use that.
Blood is thicker than water, but motor oil is thicker yet...so, don't mess with my SOHC4, or I might have to hurt you.

As always your work is beautiful. Good luck with the maiden voyage.

How soon will the CL be getting some love? I'm very interested in seeing that one too.

Absolutely stunning job! The front “bumper” and rear rack really make it. How’s the wife’s knee doing?

It has been almost three weeks since the second surgery on my Wife's knee and she is recovering well.  Still wearing a brace and on a walker, but staples have been removed and mobility is increasing daily with physical therapy sessions three times a week.   When we looked at the x-rays on the follow up Doctors visit we the realized the extent of the damage, her knee cap was laying to the one side.  I am not sure which fall caused the damage or if something went wrong on the first surgery, but we count our blessings each day and pull through one more.  I have been doing all home chores, preparing all the meals, laundry, and grocery shopping since December 26th. ( Hop Sing on Bonanza should have been paid a hell of a lot more.)  We are both waiting for things to return to normal again, I think it will be appreciated by two "Old People" more than anyone can comprehend.....

The first ride on the Dream was perfect other than a leaking after market petcock that required re-sealing.  The bike really is a joy to ride, damn sure not fast, but smooth as silk going through the gears.  Scrambler is next up after the bags get some TLC for the Dream....

Cool Bike. When I was a kid, full framed dirt bikes were becoming commonplace and we all as young teenagers thought the Hondas with the stamped metal frames were uncool. Now at 67 I think they're wicked cool. Funny how that goes.

As a result of a motorcycle accident, I had a total knee replacement 3 years ago on April 8. I attacked my physical therapy and I set a goal of being back on my MT10 in 4 weeks which I did. By August I rode 840 miles from Massachusetts down to The Back of the Dragon in western Virginia and met up with 3 friends. We went balls out and the new knee held up pretty good.
I'm not totally useless, I can still serve as a bad example

Bags are coming along.  Insides are spruced up, and one is in primer, hopefully both will be in paint in the next week or so.   The Wife has gone back to work, with Wilma, the name I have given the walker.  She has progressed out of the Satan designed brace and should be walking unassisted in the next 3 weeks or so.   I am still the the chauffer and main housekeeper, so garage time is when I get out there for a few hours.   I have also started pulling the CL77 down, the bike is truly really low mileage but must have been sitting in a wet environment for quite a while, fighting a lot of rust.   In the parts area, I have located an original set of Buco Mounting brackets for the Dream, damn rare, and two good wheels for the scrambler that have decent chrome and are 19inch OEM.  I have a back up rear also that I actually re-laced the spokes on, first time for that fun filled experience, but really enjoyed the process......
