I've heard Tazzies or Aussies make reference to "doin' blockies" several times recently online.
Are blockies what Americans call Cruising or burnin' Donuts in the street with your motorbike / car?

Wait a minute, I'm old and I still do "blockies" but fortunately my block is 12 miles around.

 I can't do a blockie and make it back home without a right turn. The blocks here are irregular.
