CB500, 73, carb rebuild kit
« on: November 21, 2023, 12:24:44 PM »
I took a chance, more on a whim, and ordered a kit from Walmart (where knew?).  The kits included brass, orings and a gasket.  The brass was rough.  Nothing was marked. The needle had a burr at the tip. The holes in the jets were ragged around the edges. (See photo). No idea if the rings were the correct size.  I’m taking it back for credit.
Where are y’all buying proper rebuild parts for the carbs?

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Confirm what brass parts you have, if OEM, most times they can be cleaned and reused.

As you just learned, aftermarket kits are worthless.
