Hi there,  New to the forum so forgive me if this is in the wrong place.  i am due to be getting a 1979 cb750 in the next couple of weeks, that is in need of a light restoration.  i can find most of the parts i need, but i am struggling to find any decent carbs in the UK.  there seems to be plenty in Europe, but i would like to avoid the customs charges/Vat that will get added.  but if there is any other website for buying spares please let me know,  i do know of David Silver spares which carries a good selection of parts for the 750

In UK only if it was old stock sold late, post the frame and engine numbers for a proper id

Do you have any pictures of the bike?

If it is an F2 there are problems specific to that model but we can tell you what when certain of model

That's either a '77 F2 or a '78 F3.

Welcome to the forum.
I have found that if I screenshot my pictures and crop them that gets the file size down to fit the forum parameters.

You do have a 1978 F3 SOHC, not a 1979 model which would be a DOHC(double over head cams)

Did you not get the carbs for the bike when you bought it? If you did, rebuild them.

unfortunately i dont have the carbs,  as that would of been the option.  thanks to the other poster for confirming what i have bought.  if you have any tips on spares websites or places to get spare,  all the bike is missing to put it on the road, is the carbs, exhaust and a front fork slider,  the latter 2 are fairly easy to source,  but i cant find decent carbs in the uk

Those carbs are probably missing because a previous owner decided that all evil should be obliterated from the face of the earth.  Given the opportunity, you might consider replacing with a set of Keihin CR's, Mikuni RS, or even the carbs from any 71-76 cb750.

F2 was 1978 here in Sweden.

My K6 was registered as a 1977 model despite imported fall 1976.
That tricked me the first years when ordering parts.
That was typical for cars too, manufactured late year q3-4, registered as next year's model making ordering parts very confusing.

My CB750K6 too. New when first registered, in June 1977. I guess they were able to make more, yet had trouble selling them, towards the end of production. The one year less on the road didn't seem to  result in less corrosion!

If its a UK bike it has to be a late sold F2, the F3 was never imported by Honda, only privately used from usa

The vin tag on the frame in picture shows it's not a USA bike.

The USA bikes had the vin tag on the steering neck not the downtube as his has.

I'd hunt eBay for carbs, also the German version https://www.kleinanzeigen.de is often very good. David Silver doesn't sell much used stuff at all. Roger Etcell would be worth a call though https://www.honda-classics.co.uk , also there are a few CB750 groups on Facebook but there are lots of scammers there, also the VJMC pages assuming you are a UK member.
