Elektronik Sachse?

I’ve asked before, but still curious. Has anyone installed this ignition system on their SOHC cb750? I used their kit on my Benelli 750SEI and it was brilliant. Not cheap, so I would like to hear any experienced feed back before ordering again.

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

Terry….. they are well known for the Benelli SEI kit. The stock set up is three sets of Marrelli points and condensers stuffed in the space Honda used for a pair. The unit in the Benelli is controlled by a small micro processor. Once you “tell” it where TDC is for #1, it takes over. 5 or six different advance curves plus a stock setting. If you visit their website you can bring up full installation instructions.
      Their systems are extremely well know and popular in Europe. That ad is in an American magazine, Motorcycle Classics. I can’t believe no one on here has tried one. I may just have to get myself a Christmas present !

I think I looked it up the last time you mentioned it. And I looked it up again just now.

Hmmm. $382 USD......
4-8 weeks to get.   
I can't open the instructions on my phone.

New CB750 K6 Anteres Red, to replace the totaled K5, I sold this K6 at 45k in 1983, I had heavily modified it, many great memories on it and have missed it greatly.....

Stu….. I bought the Benelli unit about three years ago. They’ve been around a while. The only tricky part on the installation was “teaching” the unit. Because the advancer was removed. Had to mount a degree wheel to the opposite end of the crank to ensure the engine was at TDC when I set the rotor on the other end. From memory, I locked it down when a small LED came on the fixed plate. The micro processor had three or four alternate advance curve, I set it to “stock”. Another feature was that it fired at TDC when the engine was on the starter motor speed, then went 4-5 degrees BTDC at idle. The bike always started instantly! It used the stock coils. I’m definitely going to try one in 2024. Surprised nobody else has.

I've looked into these ignitions.
They look really nice, but they're expensive compared to some alternatives and I think that's probably the biggest barrier.
Although I understand why they're expensive, there's a lot going on there.

That’s odd.

It’s the 40* BTDC total and all in by 2500rpm (750s).  It looks like the curves may be for a more efficient combustion chamber and/or higher compression. Not sure what the requirements are for the smaller sohc/4s…

I think last time you mentioned these, there were custom curves available. I think the 0* starting would be a plus for big inch/ high compression SOHC/4s..

Maybe you have some serious Benelli horsepower hiding at 40* BTDC…It looks like the standard advance curves are the same offered for Benelli and Honda perhaps more….only a few are near 40* but all advance later in the rpm range..
