How about a minivan for your kids?

A 2006 Honda Odyssey gets 20/28 mpg city/hwy while a 2006 Chevy Surburban 2wd gets 14/19 mpg city/hwy (worse for 4wd/AWD)

And the older the model Suburban, the crappier the mileage.

problem is when you put in the luggage for those 6 kids. I have never seen a minivan with the space of a suburban from any maker. They just are not as big. On top of that, the suburban will still put that camper or boat, I doubt any minivan can do that unless it is some 14 ft. aluminum raft. Thats where the diff comes in. You have to buy a vehicle which fulfills all your needs even if those needs are rare. It is like our bikes. We dont NEED them. We ride cause we want to. the purpose of a suburban is different from a bike but the reason is the same. We want and use them.

What of all these MAJOR global companies (Dupont, GE, Duke Energy, BP, Alcoa...) following the global warming "trend"?

Surely you don't think they would do it for moral environmental reasons, since there's no ethical delimma if global warming doesn't exist.  But that would mean that these companies are cutting profits and increasing expenses for no apparent reason.  But then, why would they do it if global warming is just a big hoax put forth by "greenies"?

Oh, and don't call me Shirley!  ;D

because , its safer to err on the side of higher morals

then to follow the unknown road

with all the talk of global warming, it gives companies the shine of goodness and peace

+ tax incentives

loosely translated = stick with the group who has the most groupies + bucks

I've just twigged to the oil/dinosaur link. Was watching a program on TV today and it went on about Sinclair Oil company having a slogan that went something like "Our oil is as old as the dinosaur". The trademark for Sinclair was a green dinosaur. So I guess that is where it all came from, not the oil, from dinosaurs, but the connection

Marketing !!
It's all marketing.
Toyota has enough money to lose a little and look like the greenest of the auto Co''s.
But if if they don't make money neither the auto or oil co.'s will really change their ways
and put serious money into "greener" technologies.

Suburban-shmerban, I don't want one of those "compacts", I want a Canyonero! ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"
