I read somewhere that an American co. is coming out with
a "home electric windmill" at a cost of under $11,000.
The main problem with wind power in the Northeast USA is
inconsistent winds.
5 years ago my electric bill was <$60, now that we moved into
a single family house it is never under $130, so if we figure a 20 year lifespan,
@ $65/month savings...it would take many, many years to realize a
break-even point.
An alternative to gas/diesel/electric would be H2, which you could generate via
using the electicity from the windmill. I imagine the $ savings would be
greater to propel your vehicles than using the windmill to generate electriciy for a home.
AND you wouldn't have to worry about the winds being incosistent as much.
I imagine the reason this is not currently done is cost. Am I right?
If there were an alternative to gas/diesel I would use it,
IF I could afford it. There's the rub, non?
Tell you what: send me the $ and I'll try it out and get back to you
