« on: March 15, 2007, 03:19:21 PM »
Quite a lot of stuff have been sorted this week. throtle and clutch cables, even finished wiring the elctronic ignition since these pictures were taken.
Other brackets added, speedo holder, race number plate, etc.

rear brake sorted out. neat sturdy cable is from a subaru (clutch?) and has smooth internal nylon sheating for low friction and a nice threaded adjuster.
multiple holes on the separate cable pull plate should allow changing the leverage ratio. dont like a strong rear brake while on the track.

picture from the bottom shows eccentric pedal height adjuster

battery box consumed quite some time.... its attached to a 4mm thick plate that serves also as bracing between the two rear downtubes against twisting. at least managed to recycle the original CB500 rubber battery strap!

under the battry you can also spot the custom chain slipper to prevent the chain form eating the swingarm for breakfast. I plan on raising the rear quite a bit ti quicken the steering angle and might run into the chain rubbing there.

on the right of the battery is the ex- GSXR ignition black box

last, the ex GSXR seat needed some custom brackets and these were combined into a threaded post to hold the gas tank. didnt want to rely on the flimsy original rubber strap

Not that the chain slipper is a bad idea (actually a really good one), but I'm running 14 1/4" rear shocks and haven't run into any issues with chain rub yet...(yet)

Thought you might want to know!  ;D

thanks, good to know indeed + as I will be swapping ratios quite a bit, some sproclet combinations might bring the chain closer to the s'arm than with stock ratio

I am already on 14" shock length and plan to go higher still after sorting the bike out
