CB750K6 Tank Trim
« on: January 03, 2024, 08:16:50 AM »
Hi,
I have replacements trim for the bottom of my tank. I can see there are painted tabs on the bottom of the fuel tank, bent over to hold the old trim. Is there a knack to replacing the trim? Do I just gently roll back the painted tabs, pull the old trim down and off, then push the new one on and bend the tabs back? Are the tabs prone to breaking?
Thanks,
Martin

If you open them up just a hair, you can slide them out the front and slide the new ones in the same way.

OK, I'll try that first, don't want to scratch the paint. 👍

Done. I had to get a slim screwdriver into the tabs to open them, and then the trim pieces slid off and on. Some small paint damage on the tabs, which I've touched up. I very gently added more curve to the trim, before fitting. Would be easy to cause more damage. A proceed with care and patience type of job. Possibly easier in the summer, when everything is a bit more compliant.

Thanks for your help. 👍
