  It must have had an opening in the case at some point. I got this K0 20 or so years ago and never built the bike until now. I'm shocked at the awful condition of the insides.
  I have the interior of a 10,000 mile motor from a wreck that can provide a newer rotating assembly. and accessories. I robbed the crankcase for a high-performance build. I didn't get the cases washed before the blizzard so I'm going to prep it for cleaning and stage up all of the parts.

These tires have white letter sidewalls, they are pretty fancy to be honest. The seller thought they might be original but I'm pretty sure they have been changed once. They did make it a few miles on my test ride.
 I did keep the original front tire off of my sandcast. it looks OK but has a flat spot from sitting a decade or two.
 Thanks Wilbur, I guess the sillyness wasn't as obvious as I thought. lol.

Honda Magnas and Kawasaki LTDs had white lettering, if I remember correctly….

 There was a chip broken off of a piston skirt. No worries though, I found it in the oil pump.

 Whatever came out of the oil and stuck to the bearings resembles aviation form a gasket, detergent, parts solvent, lacquer thinner, vinegar, evaporust, brake clean and gasoline don't touch it. I'm going to scrap the crank and bearings and most of the interior of this engine.
   I'm pretty sure this chunk lived outdoors under a tarp for a spell. That does not explain the other mayhem that took place inside of it. The head was ported but has a chunk broken out of an intake nipple.

When i bought my 750,i bought a used 16 inch rear wheel from carpy.i have no idea how old the tire is,but its still on the wheel.the combo hasnt been on the bike in a number of years and btw,i bought the combo in 2005.

The spot that was inside the engine cover and didn't get washed at the car wash or exposed to the chemicals at the beauty shop entrance where it was stored for a decade? I bet the lube gets washed/flung-out of certain links,more than others.

Check if chain + sprockets are shot. Slack should be equal when rotating rear wheel.

The chain doesn't wear evenly,which robs power from the bike.

I admit,sometimes I install a new chain on used sprockets which I've 'flipped over',while hoping for the same chain life as 'all new parts'..  ::)  :D  The chain wears faster.

The modern chains lives much longer with less tension.
I used D.I.D 50 HDS o-ring chain in the 80's.
I had to adjust rear wheel rather often.

I missed to adjust the slack in time during a vacation ride on Autobahn, Germany where speeds were mostly 140-180kmh.

I came into a slow going uphill  lane and had to accelerate passing big trucks. Stepped down to 3rd and WOT, chain snapped off.
It broke the chain guard brackets on swingarm, sliced a piece off the registration plate plus marks on wheel hub.
I could roll to a parking place beside the road.
I was waiting for oil to drip. No problems, cases did not crack.

I guess the 17t sprocket left more space for the whipping chain that was left on the road like a dead snake.

I had to go back and pick it up when fast going cars tires could go bad.

2 guys on a scooter arrived. I got a lift to a nearby city and bike shop where they sold a new chain just before closing time.

Back then 836 and more. Maybe closer to 80 whp.

So I prefer to use stronger chain than needed when bike came back on the streets 2014.

Chain can be good and relatively strong. Too much slack can rip it off.

 I bought a 630 DID professional O ring chain with 150 links from Summit Racing for about $50 shipped. Other lengths of the same chain are $100 higher. I have no idea why unless they are old stock that doesn't sell due to the length.

When figuring the sprocket ratio do you count where the teeth were, or only where they are?
