Ride #11, 80 miles.
Kind of a lack luster ride this morning. A little cool, very cloudy and humid. The toilet handle broke yesterday, and I couldn't get out to buy a replacement. I had to work on my taxes. I decided to go get a new handle this morning. This weekend was also the weekend for the Texas Fandango in Fredericksburg. It's a small vintage bike rally, mostly old American V-twins. Lots of bikes in town. I wanted to go to at least catch some of the dirt track races and vintage chopper drags (on dirt), but I don't usually like to go to things like this by myself. If I do, I usually don't stay long... I buy a t-shirt and leave. A friend messaged me yesterday afternoon and said he was at the Fandango. I couldn't break away (taxes), but tried to get him to meet me for breakfast at my favorite taco joint in Fredericksburg this morning. The plan was to ride the bike in and then go find a toilet handle after breakfast. He bailed on me, so I ditched the idea of going in for tacos (I hadn't been there in months), but rode to the Home Depot in Kerrville for the toilet handle, because I knew the local hardware store would be closed today. I decided to stop at Walmart on the way back for a few groceries, and it dawned on me that I probably could have just got a toilet handle there, which meant I could have spent the time and gas riding better and more interesting roads than the highway. Oh well. A 50 mile plus ride is a ride. No pics, just a route map.
Congratulations on getting #1 done, Per.
