Ride #7 85 miles
I got out today about 11am it was about 65f and perfect for jacket and gloves. I went by the demolition job and there was no obvious progress. I’ll give it a week or so, but the track is exactly where Hines Parkway dead ends at Seven Mile. I go that way most every time to “get out of town” westbound. The speed limit on Seven Mile is 50 but many go faster, and there is not much shoulder. I’d have lots of gorgeous horse pictures otherwise. If I catch it on a low traffic day I will get pictures.
Lunch at Arbys, I usually don’t have a food picture and I almost had a bite or two before the picture. I had
KFC, McD’s, and Arby’s to choose from at M36 and Whitmore Lake rd. This not nearly in the same class as what PeWe Budman Terry post, but it’s convenient, clean, quick, good enough.
On through Hamburg to Dexter and Huron River Drive. I stopped at the boat launch on the big bend above Barton pond. The shoulder is slanted, I could have used a 2x4 beneath my side stand, I sure didn’t want the bike to roll over on me or down the bank. With trepidation I leaned the bike gently way over to the stand and it held. I took the first picture and darn it, the bike was in the shade. So I moved to the sunny side, repeated the big lean, and shot the photo looking upstream. It’s a stunning ride around the big bend, even better when the river is glassed out and reflecting a perfect image.
I returned home and the last stop was at Shell for 1.75 gallons of VPower at $4.39/gallon yieding 48.5 mpg and 11 cents per mile.
John, it must have been brisk this morning at your place. It was 80f here when I arrived home, ok with jacket on while moving, but mighty warm when stopped.
