CB500X 38 miles, had mounted a cheap 5" apple carplay and wanted to put it through it's paces, seems to work fine. Tomorrow is the 600 mile service on the bike, 602mi total on the clock right now.

Took the CB750K2 for a 25 mile spin to circulate it's fluids a bit. 63mi total.

Greg, you’re doing great.

I saw a photo of a GoldWing (I think GW) on its side at the mountain pass landslide. The reporter said the MC accident led to the discovery of the cracks in the road that led to the shutdown and landslide. I know that GoldWings are heavy, but I’ve never heard of one to cause a landslide, haha. You’re in western Idaho, yes? The road closure probably doesn’t affect you, does it? Think I saw a drone photo of a weight restricted bypass being installed.

This story was in the evening news on Sunday 6/30: The bypass road is complete and open. A Greyound bus was shown on the bypass road.
There was no discussion of weight limits. I don’t know what a loaded Greyhound weighs versus a loaded 18 wheeler.

Yes, I am on the west side of Idaho, and that road is in the east, with the collapse on the Wyoming side.  I've ridden it frequently.  Teton Pass is a nice ride.  It  looks like the detour they have built will open tomorrow.  I see the detour has an 11.5% grade, an increase over the original 10%.  It will be interesting to see how the new asphalt will hold up on such a steep grade.  Maybe I'll go over there and do an interesting roads post on it.

Ride 24 2024! ;D

295 km. 28-29*C

I had to open up the leather jacket a little for additional cooling in the sunshine. The few clouds that covered the sun were welcome.

Tried the hamburger the restaurant get the meat to from a nearby farm. Grass eating cows for tasty meat, no strange things.

Finally is this bridge open again.  Closed due to ongoing repairs the last 2 years.

Ride #25, 117 miles.

I didn't have much planned for today and not much work to do that is pressing.  Seemed like a great excuse for a ride so I took off to Kerrville for breakfast.  Instead of two tacos, which I normally order, I ordered one large taco.  But since I asked for a corn tortilla, they gave me two instead of one big flour tortilla...filled with sausage, bacon, spicy Mexican eggs, potatoes and cheese.  Very meaty and delicious.

After I ate, I rode down to Camp Verde, TX.  I've ridden past it several times but have never stopped. There was an old US Army camp there established in 1856, but it's long gone.  Only a couple of monuments stand now.  A general store still operates about a mile to the east.  It's been in business since the camp days, but it's not the original building.  The original building was damaged in a flood in 1900.

Camp Verde was established to help protect the settlers from the Comanches.  It was home to the US Army Camel Corps.  This is where the first camels were re-introduced back into North America.  The Army used them as pack animals to haul stuff through the desert.  The Camp was eventually abandoned, and the Camels were sold off.  Interesting history.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Camp_Verde

After snapping a few pics I started my way back home.  Stopped in a park to take a breather, then hit a gas station Fredericksburg before riding home.

Very nice morning, though summer appears to have finally arrived in full swing.  Looks like we'll be pushing 100F daily, for the foreseeable future.  Looks like AM rides will be the new normal for a while.  I'll have to push back my plans for more long rides.

Great job Per and Jim!  Congratulations!

Sweet ride Bud, love the local history too.

Watch out for Per, he is tied with me and breathing down your neck! I don't know for sure but Per may have caught a dose of lash and wilbird disease,  he is on fire. Have you noticed the high ride count guys are doing it on multiple bikes? While you and me sit here with one Injun and one Yamahahaha! Maybe we need more bikes. Terry should have a bazillion rides by now if my theory is correct 😁!

Well done gents!

A lot of BMW types are obsessed with how many miles are on their bikes, a form of dick measuring contest I reckon.  I'd watch guys walking around looking at odometers to see how they measured up.
......

Thanks, the selling price is $169,790.60 this morning, sure to be higher later today if I have to go somewhere.  No brag, just fact, ha ha

Nice pix, PeWe.  I really like this. I'd like to build something like it around one of the flathead Ford V8s I have out back, but will likely never get to it at this late date.

That car looks like a typical hot rod seen on TV shows. I'm sure that type will always be popular.

Your CB750 F is a rolling example of using a good motor oil.

Do like Greg, period! ;D ;D

Well done guys, the weather here is going to be miserable on the weekend but I’m still hoping to get #24 in before the end of June. If not, then next weekend. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Terry you could fly to Michigan, the weather is beautiful here since the heat dome is gone. I’ll borrow my sons bike you can ride mine, make an evaluation, give it the Italian tuneup, scout for next year. I’ll show you some nice roads and buy you lunch.

There are six riders “In The Barn” before July 1st, and yourself on the verge!

Cool car.  Looks like a 32 Ford with a modified grill that has a wedge put in it to make it sloped.  The headlights are from a different car.  Obvious chopped top.  Big block Chevy motor with a tunnel ram intake manifold.  Probably fun to drive.  I bet it's loud.

Been a while since I checked in but got ride #53 in on Sunday for 109 km. My usual run down to Conestoga dam and then over to Elora for coffee on the CB.
Monday was a combination of 90 km on the cb and then 50 km on the Goldwing. One of my CB’s is in km. So that makes #54.
#55 was today to Stratford and then Listowel and home for 199 km. Then I got on the red CB to go to a car show and shine in Elora  to take some pics but arriving there realized I had left my phone at home, so no pics, no license, no money. Extra 40 mi. For the day. Drove home very carefully! Hopefully ride All weekend if the weather cooperates.
God, this being retired is really tiring!
