Monday was the Wingham car show and was #57 at 190 km on my gold CB. Great day with temp around 22c. Lots of nice old cars ! Lots of bikes there too, 99% Harleys.

90 mi. today for #58 on my silver 72 CB. Round trip to Harriston meat market, Mt. forest for the doctor and then down to Fergus to meet a friend for coffee. Overcast and warm, great ride weather.

#9.  Ran most of a tank of gas through the faithful 750F today.
Did this ride put the price over $170,000?

Sale price at the moment is $169,926.50, a little higher later as it looks like I have to make a parts run.

If I recall correctly, you have an anniversary coming up soon, so I'm guessing you're going to time the turnover to coincide with that. ;D ;D

Monday July 1st I tried something I haven't done for about 2 years...................I went to work! A friend of my ex-boss has a job in Laguna Beach that he needed some help with  2 sets of stairs for a hillside multi level deck, and since figuring stairs was one of my specialties, I said what the heck. The cool part was all he needs to do is figure out to build them and help with the bones, I needed very few tools and was able to ride the bike!. That got me Ride #25.

It's around 60 miles to Laguna from my house and great weather AND a nice ride so I loaded Eeyore down with the few items I needed and hit the road around 6:30. ( taking the long way both directions, of course) . It was supposed to be freaking hot in corona  and only about 75°f/24°c i Laguna Beach and I was getting PAID  made it a no brainer.

I didn't take many pictures, but it was great. The guy I was helping has stage 4 skin cancer and is a good dude so I felt good helping him out, especially since he had been screwed by someone else before he called me.

The ride started about 6:30  in the morning which is rare for me to start a ride at that hour, and it was already around 65°f/18 °c at home and predicted to be around 91°f/33°c with 75% humidity, buh bye Corona! I did the math and helped him figure what material the other guy f'd up. Hit up Jack in the Box for lunch at Brooks Street where the old "greeter of Laguna" used to stand an the corner and wave at everybody traveling PCH back in the 60's and 70's. They made a statue to honor him and placed it on the corner where he would " greet", pretty cool.

Anyhool finished for the day and headed back over the Ortega Hwy and off to home. The temps got pretty warm as I dropped back down into Elsinore and on to the house. It was a good day and I will repeat it on Wednesday to finish the job. It was a bit weird being a commuter, but I'll take it.

Stats and pics.

Left home.                 65°f/18°c
Ortega in A.M.           71°f/22°c
Laguna all day.          75°f/24°c
Ortega afternoon.     91°f/33°c
Home @6:00.            83°f/28°c

Cool trip and bet you enjoyed noodling out the stairs...
The angles can make your head hurt sometimes when you cannot easily measure stuff.

Cooled off quickly in evening... that's something we don't get the pleasure of in summer here. June was very hot here and hotter in Phoenix where it is lower altitude as well as I version bubble keeping heat in the Phoenix metro valley area surrounded by mountain ranges...

Tucson June stats attached...
New record

Only suppose to get down to 81f tonight

Ride #17    55 miles    Home - Whitmore Lake - Home

I washed the bike and engine yesterday. It has a top end stain like a seeping puck and it needs to cleaned once or twice a year, or be repaired properly. I don’t have a frame kit on my CB so I washed it with Gunk engine brite and the garden hose. I expected some trouble afterward and I got it. The engine started on two, then three, and four when up to speed but it’s not liking idle speed. I went a few miles last night and took the lilies and ducks photos.
Today I went much further. The barge with fireworks was being loaded today at Whitmore Lake. I expect they’ll tow the barge to the middle of the lake and start lighting them off tonight at 10pm.
Down the road on Territorial I saw a new barn going up, there is hope for agriculture! But maybe it’s a wealthy gentleman’s barn, for his motor home and classic car collection. At least it’s a barn, not a 7-11 or Starbucks. The construction driveway was unfinished, with 2” crushed concrete loose on top and I immediately thought of Sean The Lone Builder and his unfortunate dump as my front wheel wobbled and my handlebars pitched. But I held on tight, got my barn photo and got out safely.
Even with a rough running CB I had a nice ride, and it went like sHell when I went through the gears at 7000rpm, just doesn’t idle nicely.

My 2nd and final of employment, except for the money.......you can have it! But it did net me ride #26 though. Taking Ortega over the mountian to get to Laguna Beach is fun.......except when some bed wetter decides to plat with fire! There was a series of small fires about half way to work and they closed the road. After chatting with a Cal Fire guy and another bike rider, I decided to turn around and battle the freeway around the other way. As I was lane splitting (at a very moderate speed) I had some hag wagging her finger in the air and slowly move over to block me from passing, that pissed me off. I just waited my chance and did a lane change and left her in the dust, that's her problem not mine! So I got to work quite a bit late and ended up staying late to finish because I couldn't go bake for about a week. I didn't want to leave the contractor in a lurch and didn't finish until around 6 o'clock.  I got all the stairs stringers cut and played out and discovered that the architect gave me some VERY wrong dimensions, so all my work was wrong!  Fortunately I was able to salvage nearly $1200 worth of beams and I came out looking like a hero.

So after reworking my figures and cuts and getting out late, most of the early July 4th traffic was over AND Ortega was open. I loaded down Eeyore and headed for home. The little fire episode added about 50 miles to my round trip so I was able to log 160 miles. I was tired but it was a good day!

Jim your mirror adjuster for the hag was strapped down too tightly to be easily accessible. Saw footage of a CHP splitting/filtering in slow traffic and he was bopping mirrors of vehicles not maintaining proper lane spacing and closing  gaps. It was amusing in a way...must have adjusted 5 mirrors in the short clip...

Kelly, I never do trust them, I told the contractor we needed to check the elevations 3 times, but he insisted they were right. 1 was like 3 1/2 inches too tall and the other was 7 1/8 inches too tall. So he ended up paying me extra to correct everything.

I ran into problems with architects drawings on a couple of jobs over the years on custom homes. I had to physically show him his calcs were wrong.

Cool rides.  Cool pics.

Jim, I was intrigued by your Old Greeter statue story.  I looked up the location on Google maps before I saw your photos.  Looks like the OG got a new paint job since the last time the Google Maps car drove by.  One of the camera angles had his face blurred. lol!

Big day for ride #59. Started out with a ride on the silver 72 to my Honda dealer to book my Goldwing in for the fuel pump recall. The 72 has been giving me grief with deciding to not shift into neutral when hot. No big deal but it does bother me so I am going to try an oil change to see if that helps. That was 82 mi.
Next I took the now green 72 up to Mt. Forest and the hardware store for some hose attachments so I could wash the bikes. This bike has the Delkevic 4into1 pipe which I have never used before and I need to figure out the jetting for it. This ride showed it to be really rich so I have adjusted that and hope to test it again on Friday. 45 miles for that one.
Bike number 3 was my red 69 for a run to the bike night in Guelph. Tons of bikes and loud music! That was 110 mi.
So it all comes out to 237 miles for the day. No bad! For some reason my phone pics will not sync to this iPad to add to this post. No idea why.

You might have the same problem Sean(Belfast2Belfast) had while at my place. A loose screw on the shifter linkage behind the tranny cover.
The screwdriver is pointing to the screw holding the big washer. He was having trouble getting neutral also when hot. Hondaman says he has found the screw loose on motors he has rebuilt.

Remove the screw, clean the threads and put locktite on it.
