Ride #31, 308 miles.
Weekend total, 499 miles. Two miles less than last weekend's ride total.
Left the house about 7:45 this morning. Hit town for some tacos and then off I went. I was thinking about going north, but I enjoyed riding southwest least weekend, so I stuck with that theme.
I took a different route than I normally take to Medina, which is where I tend to jump on the Three Sisters route most of the time, even though I wasn't riding the Sisters today. I took 337 to Leakey, where I filled up, and then continued to the opposite end of 337 in Campwood, TX. Took a right and headed north on 55, which I did last week when I exited the Three Brothers route. This time I stopped in the ghost town of Telegraph, TX and got a pic in front of the old Post Office/store. Built between 1890-1900, it closed in 2011. The price on the pumps was $1.99/gal. That's probably as high as they go. Stopped again for pics at one of the South Llano River crossings. The Llano River always seems to have a decent amount of water in it, unlike some of the other rivers I frequently cross. And it's always flowing.
Rode through Junction again for the second time in two days. Took a break at the park. Snapped a pic of the county courthouse on my way through town before filling up.
I rode up to Yates, and got on 385 to Harper. I was supposed to ride 385 in the opposite direction yesterday, but missed the turn coming from Harper.
There was total cloud coverage this morning when I left. The weather guessers said no rain. They were right, but the clouds didn't clear out until about 11:30. High was only 92F. For whatever reason we are not having and intensely hot summer. I'll take it!
I have some errands to run this week, so I'm hoping to get another ride in before next weekend.
