135 km for #88 today around the Baie Verte peninsula. Stop in Wild Cove for pics. So many little old fishing villages!

Only 90 km for #89 today to Coachman’s Cove. Pics are the locals. Momma bear is already in the trees.

8-31-2024, 115 miles #60. They finally finished a bridge over by Defiance, OH so I went over that way, then headed east along the Maumee River and finally North to Swanton and on home.

9-1-2024, 152 miles, #61. Rode west of Angola a ways, headed North to MI, east for a good bit, then South and back home.

9-2-2024, 224 miles, #62. headed to one of the Bridges of SOHC county. Looks like I can go about 215 miles before the fuel gauge says "hey we need some fuel soon". Took 3.6 gallons to fill. 62.7mpg

Ride #24   139 Miles   Home - Chelsea - Stockbridge - Hell - Dexter - Ann Arbor - Plymouth - Home

Finally got it done today but the last mile was shaky and was done at walking speed as I picked up a
#8 x 1” sheet metal screw with the rear BT46 tire on Six Mile road. The bike wobbled at 45mph as the tire deflated but was manageable at walking speed and traffic wasn’t too bad so I wasn’t in fear of being run over.
I was very grateful to be just a mile from home and completing my 24th instead of 70 miles away.
I had Mikes Reuben #37 at lunch and didn’t notice the mural right in front of me and I captured just the corner of the mural as I was seated. Outside, I parked in view of the main crossroads in town. The city has provided a rack for bicycles but nobody was pedaling today. I motored on to Cedar Lake and parked crossways in the middle of the road Ofreen-wise for the last photo.
More to tell about the ride but dinner is on the table.

Congratulations, Kevin!  Go ahead mail yourself a 24 Rides dogtag, and don't forget to make one of those cool photo collages.

Glad you weren't far from home with the flat.  I've had to bail out of ride once from a rear flat and had to phone a friend.  Unfortunately, I woke up to a flat on my truck on Sunday.

I love me a good Rueben sammich.

I'm a light wait compared to others, but beautiful day in the Carolinas and had to stretch legs on both machines today.

About 35 miles on each the 550 and 750.

Congratulations, Kevin!
You did the planned rides for 2024! ;) ;)

Good luck in a bad luck situation. A flat tire can be scary.

The screws seem to be spread here and there. I have got in the car tire. Found in time that could be repaired.
My K6 got a 5-6" nail in rear tire day before midsummer 1983 on a trip with friends.
Repaired at a friends house in the countryside where the nail entered the tire without invitation!

No compressor but oxygen and acetylen.
I went with the oxygen I replaced at next gas station.

The repaired tube was OK for a week. The rear tire suddenly wobbled around on the highway in 120kmh so I know the feeling....
That was during my way home from a bike shop I had bought tire, tube and tire irons. I had tools in the mounted Shoei bags.

Parked bike on the side in a field. Removed wheel and replaced tire and tube.
I hitchhiked to a gas station to inflate the tire while my girlfriend was resting beside the bike laying on its side.
I'm sure Police came when they thought it was an accident. ;D ;D

If this should have happened during the cellphone era, ambulances should have arrived!!!

So, no cellphone days was not bad back then. I should not ride or drive a car without today.

I don’t believe it will enlarge very well, our SOHC photos are ok as a 1” square on the page.

Are you running tubeless?
I'd rid that one out. Get another to have ready.

You’re pretty fast on the keyboard Stu, I have ordered the tire, and deleted my post.
Plan A was to reuse the tire, but my knees are telling me to get a new one.

After a bit of a lay-off I managed to get out for around 60 miles on the Yamaha 650 this morning.  Temps in the low 60's, felt really good.  Looks like fall might be coming to Ohio after a long hot & humid summer.

Congrats Kevin & John!  Good to have you join the 24 in 24 club!  The more the merrier!

Hey Willbird, the Big 4 bridge in Sidney is mighty impressive.  When I first scrolled down, I though it was my photo from last spring...

Ride #33  60 miles...  Another beautiful morning here, temps in the mid 60's.  Gassed up the XJ and did some back road cruising.  Mostly empty roads very little traffic.  Bike is running great considering it has sat in storage most of the summer.

#91 today for 416 km. Rode to the only Harley Davidson dealership in St. John’s Newfoundland to pick up a T-shirt for my riding buddy that has a triglide. Then up to Brigus where the HGTV show “Rock Solid Builds” is filmed. What a gorgeous little town! Then over to Dildo where the honorary mayor Jimmy Kimmel put up the “Hollywood” sign! Then back to Clarenville for the night. Tomorrow we are off to Twillingate!

John, it’s tough, but fun, keeping up with the good things you all are doing around here.

It’s time for me to sort through my own photos and pick a few.
…..Uhhh, I have a flat to fix, hope my new tire/tube will be here soon.
I was double fortunate to be close to home when the tire went down and
completing my 24th, whew!, no fun being stuck on 23.

There, it’s done:
