Here’s the last item Stu. I have grabbed some of your best photos and put them together.
It’s nothing fancy, any 4th grader could make this, but it shows what we do here.
If I have missed a particular photo let me know (any of you 24 in 24 riders) and I will redo what I have done.

Looks good Kevin.

#25 today for 82 miles. 57°F to start at 9:30 on the K5 to Church then gas up at Sunoco on 101A just into Nashua before heading north on Rt 13N from Milford to New Boston, across Rt 136N into Francestown,  onto Rt 47W, with a stop at Crotched Mtn Ski area, into Bennington, onto 202 S for a few miles to Forest Rd South with a stop at the Contoocook River covered bridge, to 31 S through Greenfield, Lyndeborough and Wilton, to Rt 101 into  Milford to meet up at the Mile a Way Restaurant to have a late lunch with a high school buddy(Oops no pictures again!) Then home again.
It was feeling like fall as it was partly cloudy, some threatening dark, all day, with a few breaks of sun, but I stayed dry. 63° when I got back to the shop. A great day!

Looking like fall is starting to take hold there Stu. It is a month or more away from Tucson in the city seeing leaves turn, sometimes as late as Thanksgiving here. Went to movies on Thanksgiving Day several years ago when I lived in Sierra Vista AZ which is around 4500-4800 ft and leaves around the mall were in peak change that day... I walked from my apartment to the mall which was about 3/8 mile away.
We had our first day in 80s in about 127 days I think it was since it had been below 90 during the day. Temps were down to 62 overnight and should reach 94f this afternoon, it is 91f at 2.30pm as I post this...

No rides today as it rained most of it and the temp was 10c. We leave for home on Tuesday and I hope to get in lots more rides if the weather cooperates at home in October. Pics are of the sunset tonight from our driveway here.

Ride #44, 69 miles

I had to run to the Post Office today, so I took the Scout.  Temps are cooling off slightly.  It was overcast this morning, but the sun eventually showed up.  I packed myself a light lunch and figured I'd head to the Old Tunnel Park for the umpteenth million time.  I enjoyed the scenery and the serenity.  I would have stayed out longer, but I have to get some work done.

I'm always impressed how well the camera on my phone captures the sky.  The clouds look like a painting.  The board does something to the photos when I upload.  Doesn't do them justice.

Bud, there is some newer software built in that reduces the photo size to 150kb +/-. When I’m working the photos here, most are ok but some are unusable/fuzzy, and won’t take an enlargement. And I’m no expert, but I don’t believe that all displays are created equal.
You have some beautiful fair skies there in Texas.

On this day, I was wishing for a few more clouds here to complete the reflection:

I use a program called Easy Thumbnail to shrink most of my photos after I copy them from my phone.  They look good on my screen, but when I upload them they get compressed even more.

No, this was taken yesterday in Elora, On. I took the Goldwing to Newfoundland and the last week was cold and cloudy. Unfortunately we didn’t take any cold weather gear with us so missed out on a lot of riding. Got home and it was around 20c so no reason to stay home! Plus I needed a cb750 fix!

Wimped out today with only 54mi. For #99. Don’t like riding naked 750’s in the rain so I bailed before that could happen. Hope to do better tomorrow.
Leaves are changing now so hopefully better pictures!
Also had a golden crested kinglet hit a house window this afternoon. Put it on the chair and after about 20 min it flew off. Never seen one before.

Glad the kinglet survives and is ok. Congrats on the ride, 111F out here, staying inside in the AC set on a comfortable 79f. Yes, 79 is comfortable in extremely low humidity (9-11% during warmth of the day) if you are accustomed to hot temps.

Look forward to the photos, meanwhile 59 miles away in SummerHaven, AZ stop Mt Lemmon it is 80f. Amazing what altitude can do to cool things off.
Tucson proper is around 102F. I'm out in desert valley beyond the Tucson Mountains North of Saguaro National Park West...this my extreme temps. Phoenix is even hotter!, at 115f at Phoenix Airport.

Ride #45, 366 miles.

Just a measly little 366 miles today.  Left the house about 7:45 this morning with the goal of lassoing San Antonio.  It was a brisk 58F, requiring added layers.

Hit Luckenbach first for a pitstop.  They must have had a festival or something happening the night before.  Lots of canopies still standing.  Looks like maybe a day two was going to happen, whatever it was.  I carried on through Blanco and San Marcos, then gassed up in Luling and grabbed some snacks for later.  Headed southwest at Gonzales and gassed up again in Jourdanton, where I started headed northwest again after shedding a couple of layers.  It was getting warm.  I soon started hitting a bunch of butterflies.  Not as many as I hit on my ride to Brackettville, but the Scout will require a bath.

I stopped at the city park on the Medina River in Bandera for a break.  Had my snack lunch and took off again.  Lots of motorcycles in Bandera.  On my way out of town I passed the fairgrounds, and it looked there was a bike rally going on.  Lots of HD baggers.

I carried on to Kerrville for my last fuel stop.  Lots of canopies at the river park there too.  Must be that time of year.  Fall festivals abound with the cooler temps.

Got home about 3:45.  Even though this ride was 100+ miles shorter than last week's ride I feel more tired.  It took me almost the same amount of time.  I must be getting old, or maybe it's saddle time and not speed.

Not many photos today.  I just kept rolling.

I still want to attempt a 500 miler, but I'm waiting for cooler temps down south.

I'm back! I feel a bit guilty for not doing any rides in over a month, but the weather's been horrible, and Spotty and I have been busy fixing my various bikes so I can do more riding, and less wrenching, once the weather warms up. I've just been looking at the previous pages to bring me up to date, some great rides guys, and some great pics!

On my last post about my last ride, on the white BMW, I said that I hoped that my next ride (#27) would be on a Honda. I'm happy to report that yesterday, I did. Spotty and I had to trailer the K0 over to his place (and surprisingly, after 2 years it started right up and we both took it for a ride around the block before we started to pull the engine out to fix a leak from the slightly warped cam cover, and the alternator and gear change cover, using the age old "Sandpaper on glass" method. as an added insurance, I put a thin smear of Permatex sealant on each of them before reassembly. We installed a new filter and then discovered that the sump plug hole was stripped, so we stopped work for the weekend and I had to find another sump pan that wasn't fcuked during the week, was happy to find a good one in my tubs of parts. We installed it, filled it with oil and bolted more parts on, and were happy that when we started on it again the following weekend, there was no pool of oil underneath it. Yay!

Many months ago I bought a set of new Yamiya pipes from a mate here in Oz, so we installed them, along with a set of OEM rear shocks (black tops) to replace the Ebay copies I'd put on it during the build in 2020. OK, so after several Saturdays, we finally got to start it, and I'd love to say that it fired up right away, but I'd be lying. It popped a few times, but nothing. OK, I remember that I'd installed a "Chyna" (Chinese Dyna S ripoff) when the bike had started running on 2 cylinders on my last ride in December 2022 when I thought that the Tokico I'd originally installed had somehow failed. It made no difference, so I parked the K0, and forgot about it. Instead of having a blue and yellow signal wire, the "Chyna" has just black and white wires, so I swapped them around, and it started right up, but idled at around 5000 RPM! Fark!

Another week went by and this time we checked the carbs and discovered that the slide on #3 was stuck at the top of the carb. We re-routed the cables and made sure the slides were in correctly, and then fired it up again, and this time it started, but was missing and farting, and #3 pipe was as cold as ice. We checked plugs for spark, we swapped plug leads to see if there was any difference, but still there was nothing. We did a very crude compression test (finger on, or near the plug hole) and it had compression, so we dropped the float bowl and found the main jet, and holder, laying in the bowl. Well that'll do it......... We popped the other bowls off, and the main jets were all loose, so we tightened them up. This time, we were rewarded with it running on all 4 cylinders, yay! I rode it over to the storage facility with Spotty following me in his car just in case, and I had a lovely ride.

Yesterday, I did some work on the wife's old Hyundai to use as a spare car, as today I have to change the cam belt in her other Hyundai. Once finished, my oldest sister called me "just fo a quick chat" that went for over an hour. I hadn't had breakfast, it was almost 1 pm, so I made a grilled croissant with provolone cheese. Delicious.

K0 Saturday 28 September 2024 by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

Eventually I terminated the phone call, jumped in my truck and rode over to the storage facility. I took my multimeter with me, because I'd meant to double check the charging system, and had forgotten, after Spotty and I compared multimeters and discovered that both of his were crap, including his new digital one. I fired the bike up, and was happy to see 14 volts @ 3000 RPM. Excellent. I rolled it out into the sunshine, and the first thing I noticed was this. Thanks again, Bud and Kevin, it's even the right colour!

K0 Saturday 28 September 2024 1 by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

I'd only just rolled it out when a young guy in his thirties came over for a chat, loved the bike and told me he had a couple of bikes. I fired it up again and rode to the nearest gas station and filled it up with 98 RON fuel. I took off again, and did a similar ride to last time. I stopped for a cigarette at the same spot as on my last ride, I'd done around 50 miles and found most of the potholes, so it was nice to give my back a rest for a few minutes. Of course, I had to take some pics.

K0 Saturday 28 September 2024 3 by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

K0 Saturday 28 September 2024 6 by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

Yesterday was a big day for football fans, the AFL Grand Final was on, so the roads were pretty quiet. I only saw one cop car, but as I entered the  Freeway for the last 10 miles or so back to the storage facility, I noticed that there was a big car crash (at least 3 cars involved) and there were cops, ambulances and fire trucks in attendance. There were miles of cars trapped behind the incident as all 4 lanes were blocked, and as it is the main road to the airport, I wondered how many folks would be missing their flights? Anyhoo, I arrived back at the storage facility safely and was overjoyed to see that there were no obvious oil leaks! There was a tiny bit of oil mist on the #1 carb floatbowl and airbox/sidecover, but it wasn't even really wet, and I just wiped it off with a tissue. Happy days! I even remembered to remove the 8 year old black Motobatt battery from the Triumph, to bring home and charge, to see if I can get anymore life out of it.

K0 Saturday 28 September 2024 7 by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

Anyway, I better go out and start on the wife's car, if it's a nice day tomorrow and I've finished the car, I might have to go do ride #28, and you can guess what I'll be riding! ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Your K0 looks better and better, Terry!
The 4-4 must add the typical CB750 sound.
I like the red color. Rather deep candy despite the age. Matching colors on the tank, side covers and headlight ears too.

I'm waiting for a ride. Frosty early morning with  -3*C,  now whopping +4*C!! ;)
One of my weather apps promise 10*C  within a few hours.
That is what I can get.

#100 today for 106 mi. 25c and clear skies, perfect fall weather. They have lowered the water level in the Conestoga reservoir like they do every year, tells you that fall is here. Stop in Mt. forest for a burger.

That's some cool weather riding PeWe, Lash that's quite the accomplishment, how many total miles on the bike this year? How did your tires hold up to the mileage? How's the wear?

Congratulations Lash on reaching 100 rides!
The past 3 years staying in NH with lots if time in the shop working on projects has cut my riding time hugely. I've had years in the past 15 that my usual yearly mileage was 15,000-26,000 miles......
But part time working and minimal retirement fund $ gets eaten by cost of rent, food and parts as well as time...

1975 K5 Planet Blue my summer ride, it was a friend's bike I worked with at the Honda shop in 76, lots of fun to be on it again
1976 K6 Anteres Red rebuilding project, was originally my brother's that I set up from the crate, it'll breath again soon!

Prior bikes....
1972 Suzuki GT380 I had charge of it for a year in 1973 while my friend was deployed and learned to love street riding....
New CB450 K7 after my friend returned...
New CB750 K5 Planet Blue, demise by ex cousin in law at 9,000 miles...
New CB750 K6 Anteres Red, to replace the totaled K5, I sold this K6 at 45k in 1983, I had heavily modified it, many great memories on it and have missed it greatly.....

When it snows I will total up the miles/km on the bikes. Don’t think I will top last year as I missed a month with the broken ribs but it should be decent miles.
