Thanks Per, they’re totally different bikes, the Honda has more horsepower and is smoother than the Kawasaki, but the Kawasaki has more torque, and feels a bit nimbler than the Honda. Both great bikes, but polar opposites. I like them both, but if I could only keep one, it’d be the K0.

Well PeWe, you are right.  I started this 1/1/24, so I figure if I have gone this far to document these rides, I may as well see it through if the weather cooperates. 

Pretty nice today, it was 53F when I left the house at 3pm and still 48 when I got back.  I got home after dark, but it was a fine ride.
Alongside the Snake River in Marsing.  That is Lizard Butte in the distance.  People see the shape of a lizard on the butte, sort of a lava flow Rorschach test -



Sommercamp Road is an Owyhee County road that runs between ID78 and US95.  Always nice to ride -

If I didn't have to get the work done the past couple of days, we were very similar here in southern NH with 56° yesterday and 48° today, that I wanted very much to be out riding with....

Thanks gents.  I was surprised how nice it was yesterday, felt like spring but that changes today with a forecast high of 43 and the return of the inversion.  I did get into some salt yesterday I couldn't avoid so I need to wash the bike this afternoon.

I came here to say hi to Terry, hello mate, and see that PeWe and Stu have been by and ofreen has notched another ride, excellent Greg! Are all your 23 rides on your 750?

We are about to get smacked overnight by an Alberta Clipper with 1”-3” snow, not too much for shoveling, but plenty to make for hazardous driving.

Thanks PeWe.  I decided this year to only count rides taken on the 750F that went somewhere interesting enough to take a few photos and I tried to make them at least 100 miles long, more in line with Frank's original idea.  I understand completely why Terry changed the rules to get more participation and think it was a good plan.  So I haven't counted cross country rides on the other three bikes, such as the ride to South Dakota on the RK, or rides on the 750 where I took the long way home from the hardware store.  I counted a couple of less than 100 mile rides here this month because I figured riding in the cold was worth some extra credit, but they were over 50. .  So I have one more to do before the end of the month if I want to get in under the wire.

I think we should give you the “24 Rides” tag regardless Greg, I understand why you chose to only count your CB750 rides, but I think you’re being a bit hard on yourself and don’t want you to have to battle the weather (and wet/icy roads) just to get the last one in.

G’Day Kevin, I’m going well, trying to get used to waking up in the morning and not having to go to work. Am on my last Christmas holidays until I retire this time next year. I’m really looking forward to quitting, and have been offered some part time uniform work until the Army kicks me out in 2027. That’ll be 5 months short of 50 years in uniform, but I was supposed to be kicked out in March next year when I turn 65, but luckily I got an extension until 2027.

I’ll be posting the last few rides for 2024 over the next week or so, but in case you don’t see them, have a great Christmas and thanks to you and Bud for all the work you’ve done making and distributing the key tags.

Thanks Terry, I appreciate it.  No worries, I won't push it.  The ride last week was a bit of a miscalculation as far as the moisture and the temps went, but it looks like there is an opportunity in the forecast to get another one in.  The forecast keeps changing, so if not, I may come to the group with hat in hand.

Thanks for that. Scott's right, I enjoy everyone's photos too. I look at them all, as it's what makes the thread interesting.  I can see terrain and locations I haven't been to.  Looking for Kodak moments as I ride along probably gets me to look around more and actually see the countryside more thoroughly as well.

FWIW I can see the 10 day forecast for Idaho with a couple dry days at mid and upper 40’s.
Greg, you only need an hour or two.
If it doesnt pan out don’t sweat it.

As veteran riders, we should all be experts in risk management.

I got the settlement money for the Scout on Christmas Eve.  I've seen one bill from the Fire Department so far (for the ambulance rides), but they were asking for my insurance company info.  I just need to mail that info in...I hope.

Still some minor aches and pains but each day is a little better.  Not sure what I'm going to do next year.  My CB750 Chopper project is screaming at me hard, but if I tackle that it means I won't be riding.  I'm not in a hurry.  I need to get some business stuff done in the next few months.  I'm probably going to wait until April and see where I am financially, before I commit to a plan.

In the meantime, I'm happy to make "25 Rides in 2025" tags if y'all want to keep going.

For what it’s worth, I rode 3508 miles this year, most all of it is accounted for here. There were a lot of double digit rides, but there must have been some 100+ miles rides as well. There wasn’t an overnighter but I kept a steady pace all season.
 I got a couple ROK straps, a chain brush, PJ1 blue label chain lube, and a gift card…. very nice… My MC loot from yesterday.
