CB350 F side stand
« on: January 05, 2024, 09:53:44 AM »
I have just recently acquired a 350F very original bike with 5900 miles on it.  I have a CB500F a K0 also.  I feel like the 350 has a very straight up side stand and it wouldn't take much to fall over to the right side.  I believe it is original but the lean is much less than on the CB500.  I am wondering if maybe I am just freaking out about something that I should not be.  I will try to post a picture but sometimes I have some issues posting photos.  Thanks

Take your picture, then take a screenshot of the picture. That will reduce the picture size count so it should fit the forum parameters.

Take a picture of the bike leaning over on the side-stand.

Looks about right and the side stand is the correct part. Has it got bigger wheels or tyres fitted?

I did check.  The tires are new and the front is a 3.0x18 and the rear is a 3.50x18.  I believe the shocks are original.

They do stand upright a bit.

Yes they do.
You can put it on the center stand if it's somewhere to worry about it.
I usually park my 750 on the center stand.

I went out to the garage and tried to duplicate the angle.  I reckon yours isn't leaning enough...

Edit: Mine has the original shocks - I think yours might not be the correct length

Measure the length of your shocks, eye to eye, so he can compare.(center of bolt to center of bolt)

Note that Trevor has quite a bit of spring preload cranked into his shocks and you are at the lowest setting. This might be lifting his bike higher in the rear, assuming your shocks are not fully extended at rest. Try and crank them up few clicks and see if that helps.
