Wrong clutch lever ?
« on: January 12, 2024, 03:30:22 PM »
Do I have the wrong clutch lever ?

Acquired the bike like this, I suspect it is the wrong lever, but don't know for sure.

'76 CB550K, see pic below.  The lever does not close all the way, it hits the stop where the pen is pointing.

Any ideas?

Yup. From a different model
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Remember "Its always in the last place you look" COURSE IT IS YOU STOP LOOKIN THEN!

That lever doesn’t fit that holder.
I’m assuming the holder (winker switch) is the correct one for that 550.
I say that because you bought a used bike and you never know what a PO had done.
The levers are available.

Thanks John, but no need.  I need to buy some parts from vintage so will just throw that in, less than $5.

I have one. The rubber end is torn. Pull it off and polish both?

I have a bucket full and this is the only one I have that looks right. My buddy Gary and I have had four 550’s, so probably.
