Anthony Gobert receiving end-of-life treatment.
« on: January 11, 2024, 05:22:02 PM »
Only 48 years old. Rob Muzzy said he was the most talented rider he had ever seen and that is saying something.I was lucky to see him at Daytona, Loudon and the old Sears Point. He was a monster.
Unfortunately Anthony had his demons which ruined his career and negatively affected his personal life. I am grateful I got to see him in his prime. I have an autographed picture of him while he was riding for Muzzy.....back then he was a friendly, cheerful kid full of life. God speed Anthony.

Unfortunately, this is a common tale , especially in the USA.

I hope he is pain-free, and rides the skies as he did on the track.

Sad news Simon. As you stated earlier.....what a waste of talent. I believe he eventually would have risen to the 500cc GP level.

Hi mike , he did get to GP level and at a very early age . I first met him when he rode a 500 for Suzuki in 1997 .he failed a drugs test and was sacked , that’s when he went to America . He was back in gps in 99 riding a few wildcards for mz . When you saw him he was in decline , at his peak he was amazing .
