Hello from South Central Pennsylvania
« on: January 13, 2024, 08:27:28 PM »
Hello all I picked up my first cb550 early 2021 I traded a old car trailer for it. When I got the bike it was in very poor shape. It was smoking out the exhaust awful and leaving oil puddles like crazy. I rode it for the season and fell in love. At the end of the season I took over my buddy's garage and got to tearing it down and doing a top end rebuild. This was the first time I've ever worked on a bike. I've been a car mechanic for 9 years now and figured it can't be that different right? It went great. I redid the top end and actually got it to run again. It's been running like a dream since. Still leaks oil but I'm still fixing her up. I'll try and start a new thread to show what I've done and what I will do

Welcome from the southern AZ desert beyond (West of…) the Tucson Mountains & a bit over 20 miles from downtown Tucson…
Harley, glad you are here.
The 550 is the best handling of the sohc4 bikes, little did you realize what you stumbled upon… ;)

I forget what year the bike was that Scott did this sweep the floor bike with…
That Kawasaki tail section seat pan certainly looks great on the bike…

Search the site for info by plugging this format to your search:

“Terms you are searching for” site:https://forums.sohc4.net

So if I want all threads with terms “cb550 coil” , then my search string entered is:

cb550 coil site:https://forums.sohc4.net

It then lists all results from the forum.sohc4.net site

The https://
Is actually not needed, old habits die hard when you are old…specifying a web site address with http or https is an old practice where it was required a few generations of browsers ago…
