Greetings from Northern Colorado
« on: January 10, 2024, 07:47:01 AM »
What's up everyone. Been lurking and reading the forums for a minute and have finally decided to join in the fun. Have owned a bunch of bikes over the years, CB's, a few yamahas, even a milwaukee tractor or two. Newly relocated to northern colorado and finally have a garage again! Don't have any running bikes at the moment but my current project is my '76 550, on which I've blown up the motor twice. Feeling good about third time is the charm, maybe even put a tach on it! Anyways, keep an eye out for a build thread in the near future although I suspect it will move forward at glacial speed  ;D

Welcome aboard JD
If you run into problems give HondaMan (member here) Mark a holler. He's just down the road a piece in Lakewood. He's actually putting a book together on restoration of the 500/550 like he did of the 750s.

Honored to be in the same state as the legendary Honda Man! Might have to give him a holler when I degree in my cam.

Bingo! 4th gear on the highway, may have missed a shift ( can't remember, was a few years ago) wound it up real good and then heard some not so great rattling noises from the motor...
