New to the crew!
« on: April 16, 2024, 01:11:40 PM »
Hey guys/gals! Dave here from Wisconsin. Thank you for letting me join this forum. Recently acquired a 1972 CB500 Four for practically free from a local guy who was moving out of state and needed to clear his garage. Plans are a street scrambler "all show some go" build with this one. Came with boxes and boxes of OEM parts (that are mostly all for sale if interested) as well as brand new parts. Currently have a 2013 Sportster Forty-Eight and 2010 Triumph Bonneville as my main bikes. No stranger to building cafe racers tho. Previous builds include Moto Guzzi 850T, BMW R90, Honda CB350, Yamaha XS650 and most recent Yamaha XS750 Triple. Hoping to gain a lot of knowledge and pick your brains for ideas on this CB500. Thanks again!

Welcome from SC. If you have the tank trim i would be interested in it.

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

Hey! I am in the Milwaukee area (specifically Brookfield 53045), so you are not far at all. I will have to keep you in mind for anything services I may need during this build. It is a long haul build, so nothing too rushed. That's awesome to know tho! Thanks!

Have you taken any "Before"photos of this project yet? Or started a separate SOHC/4 Build Thread?

Only pic I have so far is when I brought it home in pieces. There's a lot of stock parts that I will be selling off too if anyone is interested. And I haven't started a thread yet either as I know this will be a build I do little here and there over a couple year span or so.

Okay well let us know when you start putting out the list of parts.
Also it might help to post them on the SOHC/4 FB page.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/25209086842

Welcome from Colorado. Originally from Green Bay. Got my CB750 as a WI barn find.

Thanks! That's pretty cool to hear. I know a few people who have relocated to Colorado from here as well.
