That bracket for the key and voltmeter (ammeter?) is a neat first for me.

Regardless, it looks like a solid start.  Good luck!

Is that motor locked up ? Sure looks like it is from the exposed rusted valve rockers. 😕
You will definitely have your work cut out for you on that one.

Yeah, if that engine is full of water it may be beyond saving.
That's really ambitious, not a project I'd touch.
Good that you saved it from scrap whatever happens.

A little more progress. Everything off the frame and ready to clean it up. Did the forks yesterday, was hoping to use the old tubes, but they were too scarred so had to go new ones. I’m trying to use as much of the original bike as I can. So far so good.

Nice progress! I think I have a set of extra, new tubes? Didn’t you ask me for them? They might be for earlier forks…… will look today.

That bracket for the key and voltmeter (ammeter?) is a neat first for me.

Regardless, it looks like a solid start.  Good luck!

It caught my eye also. Might have to make some up.
I think it is an oil pressure gauge, which is what I want there to be able see it, lighted of course.
I'd probably add a LED volt meter or a LED bulb volt warning light in the plate.
I bought one of these but haven't installed it yet until I make a plate to mount it in.

Or maybe try to fit a voltmeter/USB outlet

The fork legs look great, nice work on them.
No holes in the frame?
What's the status on the motor?

So far frame looks good. Had to grind off some welds on the front tubes, I think were at one point attachments for maybe highway pegs. Going to take a while before paint!
Engine is in better shape than I expected but some parts are not usable. The cam and towers are in great shape but the rocker arms are trash as are the valves. The cylinders could probably have been reused but there are too many missing fins so I will replace it.

Shouldn’t be a problem to get it registered, just have to have the right paperwork. I’ve done at least 5 so far.
