Can anyone identify this electronic ignition
« on: January 26, 2024, 05:03:07 PM »
The bike I just bought has this (see image) ignition that has no
identifying marks or names on it. The black covering (I guess) seals the
unit except for the white plastic with screw adjustment. It has one black
wire traced to a power source so I guess it is self contained otherwise. The bike
has stock coils.
I would like to make a probable futile attempt to find directions/instructions
for the unit.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks to everyone. After getting a few things on the bike squared away
I see if it will actually work.
If anyone has instructions for the unit it would help a lot.

Think Terry in Aussie land is pretty familiar with those. Look for him in the Open forum section.

Wow, that’s a blast from the past! Yep, Prestolite. As I said 15 years ago, they weren’t great, but if yours is still working, that’s great. I had a few NOS ones that I sold, the only one I tried to use didn’t work for very long, so ended up in the bin.

If it was a Martek or Dyna S it’d probably still be working fine, but those Prestolite ignitions were pretty average at best. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)
